The Insulting Video

Well, I finally saw the comical, but negative video about Hillary's campaign for the presidency. I found it halarious- that is until the final portion where, in the gigantic theater are the 'mindless' humanoids awaiting there orders from Hillary Clinton. I feel that this scene fosters a stereotype of American citizens, that Americans are dumb in general are dumb. Is this infact the belief of the creator of the short e-video? I find this inflamatory. I stay informed on the issues of the day, and most people I know do this also. Why is it that Americans receive this stereotype? Are these the kinds of people that are gonna vote for Obama? That are gonna be on his campaign? I do not necessarily vote support Hillary over Obama, but at least Hillary isn't generalizing the American public.

Can the Republicans win in 08?

Recently someone asked me if it was possible for the republicans to win the elections in 2008. I had to think about that for a moment. My first thought was, "Who would even run?" Of course, the obvious names of Senator McCain, Rudy Giuliani pop to mind. But nobody really sticks out like a major candidate, its almost like there filling in until the next 'Reagan' comes along. This isn't just me speaking, but a lot of republican friends I have, have said pretty much the same thing. It could be said this is a strategy conducted by the mass media to NOT publicize a republican candidate. This will never really be known.

From observations, I have realized as an opinion, that 2 key things need to happen in order for a republican victory in 2008. The first one, is basically that Iraq needs to meraculaously turn around, into a victory. Which doesn't seem to be working at the moment. Its not as though nothing good is happening. There is good happening in Iraq, they are adjusting to democracy, this may be part of there growing pains in Iraq. But they are expensive ones. Keep in mind, democracy isn't an old idea in the modern Arab world.

The second key thing that would need to happen is, well, a withdrawal from Iraq. Wether one supports this or not doesn't change the fact that to withdraw would remove the issue of the war as an issue come election day. If the war is removed as an issue entirely the democrats won't be able to so readily point to the Republicans and blame them for an issue that is no longer relevant.

The Eyes, get them away from me!

The recent remake of the film, "The Hills have Eyes" has produced a sequel. However, it seems, from reviews, and the http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809752011/info>trailor that the movie is going to be quite different from the original film. It hasn't been released here, so I can't confirm this, and will have to wait until the movie arrives on the little 'big' screen, known as 'Bong Theater'. Can't wait, I actually didn't see the first one in the Theater, and had never heard of the first one until a friend of mine showed it to me. Once I see it, I will give more of my highly valuable opinions on the movie.
